DUROX Rust Converter
DUROX is a highly effective rust stabilizer based on tannic acid for the pre_treatment of rusted metal surfaces. DUROX Rust Converter forms highly effective, bluish colored iron complex salts with the rust and the metal substrate, which lead to a compaction of the metal surface. The ingress of water and atmospheric oxygen is thus largely prevented and further rusting is slowed down accordingly. By adding rust inhibitors, which additionally passivate the metal, and film formers, which reinforce the temporary protection, DUROX forms a bonding bridge for a subsequent coating structure. DUROX can also be applied at low temperatures and can be painted onto still damp iron.
